Kagan: anti-military, anti-family, anti-homeschooling

NEWS: Elena Kagan's nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court will soon be before the full U.S. Senate. When clerking for Justice Thurgood Marshall during a Supreme Court case where an Ohio family wanted to homeschool their child she tried to get the ruling against the parents by writing, that the parents are "self-described born-again Christians who adhere to a literal interpretation of the Bible and have little sympathy with the secular world." In addition, in trying to persuade against the Christian parents right to homeschool she wrote: "This burden on religious freedom is slight, and the interest of the state is great."

In addition to her anti-homeschooling stance she also kicked military recruiters off of campus when she was a university president, and has called the Defense of Marriage Act "abhorrent." In her hearings she also said she doesn't believe in "natural rights" referring to the Declaration of Independence which says that"all men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights..."
