Freedom OF religion not FROM religion

NEWS: The Texas Board of Education is holding public hearings and will vote this week on the content of textbooks, which will impact many other states that follow Texas' lead.

One of the major problems is a push by a group that wants to censor religious information regarding historical figures from textbooks. Our country has a rich religious heritage, and the the faith of our founding fathers had a tremendous impact on our government and law. To teach otherwise is educational neglect. This is another example of those who are trying to re-write our history and remove everything to do with God.

Initial votes on the textbooks will be conducted this week, and a final vote will be tallied in two months. Those decisions will establish textbook content for the state for the next ten years as other states will purchase and use those same textbooks.

WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT: Attend your local school board meetings and make your voice heard to keep this from happening. Those in Texas should contact the Board of Education to voice their objections. We must be active to ensure American children can still learn about the true history of our nation - a history founded upon our national motto: In God We Trust.
