On July 4, Americans celebrate our Declaration of Independence. We are often told in school the Revolution was started because of “taxation without representation.” However, those words do not appear in the 27 reasons listed in the Declaration. Here are some of the reasons for the Revolution taken directly from the Declaration of Independence. It makes for very interesting reading. (Note: Bold is added for emphasis and comments are in red.)
“…The History of the present King of Great-Britain is a History of repeated Injuries and Usurpations, all having in direct Object the Establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
#1 HE has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public Good. (Refusing “his Assent” means he does not concur with the law, so refuses to implement it. This is precisely what Obama has done by declaring immigration law void.)
#2 HE has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing Importance, unless suspended in their Operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them. (Obama did this by telling the Governor of Arizona to stop the laws that State passed to protect its boarders and by telling the Governor of Florida to quit purging voter rolls of non-eligible voters.)
#7 HE has endeavoured to prevent the Population of these States; for that Purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their Migrations hither, and raising the Conditions of new Appropriations of Lands. (Obama has done this by his declaration that negates immigration laws passed by Congress.)
#8 HE has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers. (Obama did exactly this when declaring “executive privilege,” where’s that in the Constitution, for Eric Holder.)
#9 HE has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the Tenure of their Offices, and the Amount and Payment of their Salaries. (Obama is guilty of this by appointing 32 Czars, which are not elected, not approved by Congress, but are solely answerable and appointed by him.)
#10 HE has erected a Multitude of new Offices, and sent hither Swarms of Officers to harass our People, and eat out their Substance. (The infamous ObamaCare provides for 16,000 new I.R.S. agents. Their purpose is to what? “…to harass our People, and eat out their Substance.”)
#12 HE has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power. (The Obama Administration usurped Congressional power to declare war from the Congress when Defense Secretary Leon Panetta testified on March 8, 2012 that Obama will INFORM the Congress if he decides to declare war on Syria This violates Article 1 Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution that says "Congress shall have the Power To..." (paragraph 11) "declare war". The video for that is further down in this blog.)
#13 HE has combined with others to subject us to a Jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation: (Every time we surrender our sovereignty to the U.N. this happens. For more information, look up the “U.N. Small Arms Treaty” currently being considered.)
#17 FOR imposing Taxes on us without our Consent: (ObamaCare is a tax. Despite what he calls it; it has been ruled a tax. It has been imposed on us without our consent!)
#21 FOR taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments: (Repeatedly throughout his first presidential campaign Obama said he would “fundamentally change America.”)
IN every Stage of these Oppressions we have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble Terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated Injury. A Prince, whose Character is thus marked by every Act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the Ruler of a free People.
…WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the World for the Rectitude of our Intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly Publish and Declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be, FREE AND INDEPENDENT STATES; that they are absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political Connection between them and the State of Great-Britain, is, and ought to be, totally dissolved; and that as FREE AND INDEPENDENT STATES, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which INDEPENDENT STATES may of Right do. And for the Support of this Declaration, with a firm Reliance on the Protection of DIVINE PROVIDENCE, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honour.”
